Manavodaya is a Charitable Society registered in the state of Kerala, in the year 2003. Fr. Jose Panthaplamthottiyil, the then Chief Editor of Deepika daily (the first ever Malayalam daily) was the founding director. The ex-Indian President, the late Mr. K.R. Narayanan was the Chief Patron. The founding Vice-President late Col. N.P. Sarasakshan played the key role in shaping this organization. Today the organization is prospering under the leadership of the Octogenarian President Mrs. K.N. Thankamma, a retired teacher who has become the inspiration of human community.
In the initial years, Manavodaya published books and news letters to promote human rights awareness and conducted membership campaigns. Legal-aid clinics were conducted to create awareness in women on their rights against social, economic and physical exploitation. Children’s clubs were formed, and children’s sports, arts and recreations were promoted. On nature day tree planting campaigns were conducted using school children. Children conduct padayatra, cycle rally etc. to spread awareness on aerobic biodegradable waste disposal. The President being a senior citizen, this segment of the society is being given special care. Presently the organization is running a Charitable Home for women senior citizens of economically challenged section of society. Nutritive food, medical check-up, entertainment, training in making home products are the facilities being offered to the members of Manavodaya Charitable Home.

To provide medical relief and healthcare to the sick and the needy
To impart basic training in vocational activities for the economically backward community .
